This a neighborhood with large lots and apartment complexes constructed in the multifamily zoned areas. It is the home of the Bellingham Golf and Country Club located on Meridian Street. Squalicum Creek Park is a newer community, just outside the neighborhood boundry and includes picnic areas, playgrounds, an enclosed building & an off leash dog park with salt water frontage on Bellingham Bay. It is a great place to take your dog for a walk and end up on the beach.
It has several businesses and commercial areas on Northwest, W Maplewood and Birchwood.
