Excellent views to the North and one of the oldest neighborhoods in Bellingham. There are larger homes with some being older than 50 years. Most of the neighborhood is developed and the population density is high. It is home to the Sehome Arboretum and Washington University. Many small parks in the area featuring playgrounds, basketball and open grass areas for informal gathering and dog walking.
Western is located on 215 acres and has over 15,000 students. Automobile Magazine claims Western is the best school for car design in the country. On the grounds of the University is noted for it outstanding public art sculpture both inside and out.
